If what you see is what you get, Jules is in serious trouble. The suspenseful first of four books from the New York Times bestselling author of the Wake trilogy.

Jules lives with her family above their restaurant, which means she smells like pizza most of the time and drives their double-meatball-shaped food truck to school. It’s not a recipe for popularity, but she can handle that.

What she can’t handle is the recurring vision that haunts her. Over and over, Jules sees a careening truck hit a building and explode...and nine body bags in the snow.

The vision is everywhere—on billboards, television screens, windows—and she’s the only one who sees it. And the more she sees it, the more she sees. The vision is giving her clues, and soon Jules knows what she has to do. Because now she can see the face in one of the body bags, and it’s someone she knows. Someone she has been in love with for as long as she can remember.

In this riveting start to a gripping series from New York Times bestselling author Lisa McMann, Jules has to act—and act fast—to keep her vision from becoming reality.

Oh. My. Dogs!! This book was awesome! Crash is a thrilling and completely absorbing first installment to a brand new series by New York Times bestselling author Lisa McMann!

The last book I read by Lisa McMann was Gone when it just came out (the last book of the Wake trilogy) which I did enjoy, but unfortunately the ending didn't satisfy. Now, my re-encounter with Miss McMann has definitely been one I will always remember! In fact, this book is an unforgettable one!

Crash is barely 256 pages long, yet Lisa McMann captured so many emotions on this first exciting installment that by the end of the book, I went into a turbo-nail-biting mode! It was amazing!! Jules, our lovely protagonist, smells like pizza. Her family has an Italian restaurant and they live right above it. Jules helps out in the restaurant as well so hence the pizza smell. However, when everything seems to be going just fine, Jules gets a vision of a tragic truck crash in which nine people die. When this vision starts to show up more often,it adds more scenes and details to this scary and horrible scenario. Intrigued by this vision, Jules analyze every second of it until she notices that one of the nine dead people is Sawyer Angotti, the boy she's been in love since forever, and who's also the son of the rival restaurant's owner.

From the moment I read the first page I knew that that was it. I knew that with this book, I would get totally lost within its pages. I was not wrong. Truth be told, I barely put the book down to go class (though skipping was extremely tempting) an even then, I managed to flip a few pages under the desk. This book was so addictive and Good God! what and ending! There is a cliffhanger but it's one of the "kind" ones. What I'm trying to say is that the book has a closure but there is something at the end that will leave you desperate to read the sequel! (believe me, I am!) In addition, there is a whole drama between Jules' family restaurant and Sawyer's family restaurant. Freak parents, forbidden affairs, legal issues, extreme rivalry, etc! I think that the tension between Jules and Sawyer's families and restaurants add the perfect amount of salt and pepper to the plot!

With a sweet and yummy (in the case of Sawyer) cast of characters, a hot pace, a spicy plot, and a delicious, and at times bittersweet romance, Crash by Lisa McMann has all the ingredients to deliver the perfect YA feast! Readers will certainly devour/swallow it in just one seat! Super recommended!

When you can’t trust yourself, who can you believe?

Everything about Anna’s life is a secret. Her father works for the Branch at the helm of its latest project: monitoring and administering treatments to the four genetically altered boys in the lab below their farmhouse. There’s Nick, Cas, Trev . . . and Sam, who’s stolen Anna’s heart. When the Branch decides it’s time to take the boys, Sam stages an escape, killing the agents sent to retrieve them.

Anna is torn between following Sam or staying behind in the safety of her everyday life. But her father pushes her to flee, making Sam promise to keep her away from the Branch, at all costs. There’s just one problem. Sam and the boys don’t remember anything before living in the lab—not even their true identities.

Now on the run, Anna soon discovers that she and Sam are connected in more ways than either of them expected. And if they’re both going to survive, they must piece together the clues of their past before the Branch catches up to them and steals it all away.

Wow! OMG! Wow!! I know, that's not the most eloquent way to start a review but... WOW! This book left me speechless. It's been a while since I last read a book that made me stop everything in my life to read it and I couldn't even go to sleep without dreaming about this book. Altered by Jennifer Rush is highly addictive!

Altered is an extraordinary debut novel. 2013 is the year of genetic modifications and thrillers in the YA world. Several releases on this genre are coming out this year, but Altered is the one you should be picking up. This debut novel is extraordinary! In fact, Altered sets a super high standard for this genre!

The Characters
Anna: The story is told from her point of view and I must say that the voice was flawless. I think she  was the perfect heroine and any of the questions I had during this novel, they were perfectly answered making this character 100% believable. For me Anna was perfect!

Sam: Oh sweet Virgin Mary in heaven! Sam is right up there with Dimitri Belikov! YES! I, Natalia Belikov, believe that SAM is as hot and bad-ass as DIMITRI! My dear fellow readers, here is the ultimate crush that we've been longing for! Swoon! scream! dance! jump up-and-down! drool and write Sam's name all over your dear diary because he totally deserves it! Oh! and did I say that his fighting skills and intelligence are out of this world? Yeah, he's altered and super hot!

Trev: He's the best friend, the sweet guy, the shoulder to cry on and the one to share all of your secrets with. He is just amazing! He is also a kick-ass fighter and has photographic memory! Ask him  a quote for any moment you are going through, and he'll always come up with the perfect one!

Cas: Blond, hot and fun! Cas is the one to bring those hilarious moments when the situation most requires it. He lightens the mood and dissipates the hostility that so often we encounter in this dangerous adventure.

Nick: This dude you hate him as much as you love him. He is amazing as the rest of the guys, but brings to the team the "doubt" factor. You never really know what to expect from this dude. Is he good? bad?WTH!

Holy Trinity! Sam, Trev, Cas and Nick are concentrated hotness and badassery of the highest caliber! And Good God, I'm sure this manly team will gather thousands of swooning fans! These guys are totally part of the hottest things of this novel. However, I would not be fangirling (well...yes, but not that much) over this phenomenal debut novel if it wasn't for the extremely thrilling plot!

The Plot
Anna was only 13 years old when she discovered, in her home, the underground where her father worked . That's when she fist met the guys. Unfortunately, didn't allow her to go to the lab again, until a few years later her father asked her to help him out with the lab. Now, it's been five years since the four boys arrived to the lab and The Branch (the organization that runs test on the boys) is showing up claim them back. Then, the plot just keeps unfolding and tones of twist and turns come in the way. There is so much I never saw coming. The tension and thrilling intrigue kept me turning pages with no stop! And when I turned the last page, I immediately wanted to go back to the first one and read Altered all over again. Oh yes, it's THAT good! I think I will never get tired of recommending this book. So go read it now!

Altered is pure awesomeness and badassery at its best! And believe me, the best way to start this upcoming 2013 is by picking up this book! So get ready for a huge amount action, sexyness, intrigue, and jaw-dropping twists!! Altered delivers!

John lives for that satisfying clink of dominoes as they topple in a perfectly timed rhythm of his own design. His sister thinks he’s a dork, but all he cares about is setting the world record for knocking down dominoes -- that and hanging out with his best friends at school. But when his closest friend, Dom, gets sick and ends up in the hospital, John and the gang are left behind, wondering what to do for him. Author Sally Murphy shows what a group of friends, together with an unlikely ally, will do to keep the world of one of their own from toppling. Now that John’s best friend is sick, hanging out with his pals isn’t the same. But what can they do? A kidfriendly story of silliness, sadness, and solidarity.

Toppling is a extraordinary touching and valuable story that brought tears to my eyes. Murphy's beautiful verse pulled me into the story, and into the main characters head, and also into his heart.

This is the story of a boy, John. He loves dominoes, and he loves to create complex and long shapes with them and make them topple. The only thing that makes him look forward to school are his friends, specially his best friend Dominic. On the first day back to school, Dom throws up and he is sent home with his home. The next days, Dom doesn't show up, nor the next one, or the next one after. Dom is sick. Dom has cancer.

In this moving story, John deals with hopelessness, fear and sadness. But he also experiences support, love and understanding from his friends, family and school community. It is incredible how attached I grew to the characters of this story in a spam of only 128 pages. I was so touched by John's voice, and by the way he dealt and grew to understand the situation his friend Dom was going through, that I found myself with misty eyes multiple times, and crying by the time I turned the last page. In addition to John and Dom, there are several other characters I grew to strongly care and love such as Ky (the bully of the school who is much more than meet the eye) John's friends Joseph, Christian and Tran, Miss Timms, and Jon's parents and older sister.

With beautiful and detailed illustrations, Toppling is a heart-wrenching and touching story of friendship, illness, family, and most importantly, hope. ~ A meaningful and precious children's read. Highly recommended!

Waiting on Wednesday

Hello my Dears!
This is an scheduled post! I am super busy right now because today, I'll be on a plane on my country of origin!  Kyaaaaaa!
Anyways, on a plane or with my feet on earth, today I am desperately waiting for...

Shades of Earth (Across the Universe #3)
by Beth Revis
January 15th 2013
Razorbill

The final book in the New York Times bestselling trilogy, perfect for fans of Battlestar Galactica and Prometheus!

Amy and Elder have finally left the oppressive walls of the spaceship Godspeed behind. They're ready to start life afresh--to build a home--on Centauri-Earth, the planet that Amy has traveled 25 trillion miles across the universe to experience.

But this new Earth isn't the paradise Amy had been hoping for. There are giant pterodactyl-like birds, purple flowers with mind-numbing toxins, and mysterious, unexplained ruins that hold more secrets than their stone walls first let on. The biggest secret of all? Godspeed's former passengers aren't alone on this planet. And if they're going to stay, they'll have to fight.

Amy and Elder must race to discover who--or what--else is out there if they are to have any hope of saving their struggling colony and building a future together. They will have to look inward to the very core of what makes them human on this, their most harrowing journey yet. Because if the colony collapses? Then everything they have sacrificed--friends, family, life on Earth--will have been for nothing.

FUELED BY LIES.
RULED BY CHAOS.
ALMOST HOME.
OMG! This is the stellar conclusion to one of my favorite series!! Across the Universe ROCKS! It's sad that this is the end, but after Shades of Earth, I'll be super excited for whatever Beth Revis puts on the shelves! She is awesome!!!!!!!!!

Happy Holidays and happy reading everybody!!
